Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
The Madison Senior Center is a community-based organization providing activities, services and resources which enhance the quality of life and diverse needs and interests of older adults and their families.
In addition to the Borough of Madison, the Madison Senior Center receives funding from the Friends of the Madison Senior Center, a non-profit 501(C)3 organization. The group provides supplemental programming and financial support as well as special event volunteers. Donations are tax-deductible. Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month at 9:30am.
The Senior Center Advisory Committee facilitates communication between seniors and the Mayor and Council, identifies needs relevant to the senior population and recommends programs and strategies to implement solutions. The committee meets on the second Thursday of the month at 2:00pm.
The Friends of the Madison Senior Center are in need of volunteers to assist with programs and events such as Bottle Hill Day and special luncheons such as the winter Soup & Sandwich. Call 973-593-3095 for details.
Meals-on-Wheels volunteers deliver food to Madison and Florham Park residents who are home-bound. Deliveries are scheduled on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10:00 and noon. See the Service page or call 973-593-3096 for more information.
Telephone Reassurance volunteers place daily calls to Morris County shut-ins, ensuring that they are well and have daily personal contact. Volunteers are scheduled once or twice monthly in the morning or afternoon.
Collators meet the last Tuesday of the month to prepare the Madison Prime Times for mailing. Volunteers are welcome.
Senior News Register to receive the monthly newsletter, (Madison Prime Times) by mail or email. Madison residents receive a free subscription and non-residents are charged $7.50/year for a mailed copy; there is no charge for the email version. Call 973-593-3096.
