Washington’s Crossing - 1776, Tuesday, Nov. 12, 7:00pm
Tuesday, November 12, 2019
Glenn LeBoeuf will speak about how Gen. Washington’s desperate gambles at Trenton & Princeton saved the cause of Independence!
By the winter of 1776, Washington's cold, hungry and poorly clothed army that once numbered close to 31,000 dwindled to around 3,500 by December. Many politicians were calling for Washington’s replacement, but the men who remained with Washington through the bitter defeats on Long Island and Manhattan -- and the rapid retreat across New Jersey to the relative safety of Pennsylvania-- were committed to the cause of independence.
Hear the stories of these brave men, and the many political, logistic, geographical and tactical challenges they faced. Above all, come hear about the man who led them: Washington's men would not abandon this cause, or this man.
If you have never heard one of Glenn's talks, be prepared, you are in for a special treat!
