Home Security Survey

2022 Home SecurityThe Madison Police Department is proud to announce a new addition to our already existing complement of community policing initiatives. The Police Department will offer residential and commercial security surveys free of charge to residents and business owners. The objective of a security survey is to identify weaknesses in the security of a home or business and offer guidance in how to rectify those weaknesses.

The program has been in a trial phase with Neighborhood Watch volunteers over the past several weeks and the Police Department has received excellent feedback.

Given how frequently burglaries or attempts of them are reported in New Jersey, police are always urging property owners to take a more proactive approach toward crime prevention.  Quiet, suburban communities make for a desirable target for burglars because they're under the impression residents are more lax about securing homes and vehicles. If you are interested in scheduling a security survey, please contact Corporal Stephanie C. Aquino of the Madison Police Community Relations Unit at (973) 593-3035 or AquinoS@rosenet.org.
