About Our Department
Established in 1890, the Madison Police Department is a community-oriented organization that provides law enforcement service to the Rose City. These services include patrol, investigations, traffic safety and crime prevention activities.
Our department, commanded by Police Chief John R. Miscia is staffed 24 hours a day by a staff of 28 sworn officers including one captain, two lieutenants, five sergeants, three detectives, eighteen patrolmen, four communications officers, two Class II special officers and a parking enforcement officer. The Chief is assisted by an administrative assistant and a records clerk.
