FT Librarian, Adult Services Department, Madison Public Library
The Madison Public Library is now accepting applications for the position of full-time Librarian in the Adult Services Department. This position will include reference/reader’s advisory duties, technology, Maker Space, programs involving all ages and community outreach. The work week is 36 hours including a rotation of evening and weekend hours.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, flexible, highly tech-savvy and forward thinking. Excellent customer service ethic, a strong knowledge of print and online reference sources and great teamwork skills are essential. The candidate must also exhibit strong communication skills and an interest and comfort level in developing technology, programming and community outreach.
The job duties will include, but not be limited to: reference and readers advisory services, collection development, program planning and development, participation in the Library’s digital presence, publicizing library services, social media, outreach into the community and assisting patrons in the use of the Library’s collection, services and equipment.
This position requires a Master’s degree in library or information science or equivalent, from a library school accredited by the American Library Association and eligibility to obtain a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate within a 6 month period. Consideration will be given to candidates anticipating spring or summer 2018 graduation.
The salary will meet the minimum salary recommended by the New Jersey Library Association.

The position is a part-time position (approximately 10 hours/week) with a salary range of $17.05-$19.05 per hour. No benefits.
