The Borough of Madison is hiring Per Diem EMTs!
The Borough of Madison Fire Department is looking for Per Diem Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to provide out-of-hospital emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system. These EMTs are compensated for their employment on an hourly basis to supplement volunteer personnel. Requirements and qualifications for this position can be found below and on the full job posting here. Per Diem EMTs will be under the supervision of the Fire Chief.
EMTs have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life-threatening emergencies. Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found in an ambulance. Emergency Medical Technicians are a critical link between the scene of an emergency and the health care system.
This posting is for applicants who currently possess an EMT certification valid in New Jersey and can meet the duty requirements.
Qualifications - Current EMT certification issued by NJDOH.
- CPR Certification.
- Valid driver's license & clean record.
- At least 2 years' prior 9-1-1 experience.
