Acting Chief Miscia Graduates from Leadership School at Northwestern University

Miscia_NorthwesternMadison, NJ – October 6, 2021 – Madison Police Department is pleased to announce the recent graduation of Acting Police Chief John R. Miscia from Northwestern University - School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) as part of their 496th class. Acting Chief Miscia was among 24 graduates who completed the 23-week academic training that was held between March 1 and August 1, 2021.

Since the program’s inception in 1983, this course, which is nationally recognized as a premiere leadership program and it is reputed for its rigorous academic curriculum, has graduated over 18,000 students both nationally and internationally. The School of Police Staff and Command provides college-level instruction in a total of twenty-two core blocks of topics during each session. The major study topics include leadership, human resources, employee relations, organizational behavior, applied statistics, planning and policy development, budgeting and resource allocation.

“I am proud to have graduated from one of the premiere law enforcement executive training courses in the nation. I look forward to applying what I have learned through the past twenty-two weeks to continuing to lead the Madison Police Department in an effective, professional, and efficient manner,” said Miscia.
