The Chief Executive Council for Madison was presented with the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs Award for Innovation in Governance in 2013 by State Senator and Former Governor Richard Codey at their annual meeting and anniversary celebration. The award highlights exemplary local government programs that provide innovative and practical approaches to solving municipal problems and concerns.
The honor was presented at a January 22, 2014 meeting where CECM convened local and national leaders to build further collaborations to strengthen the community, celebrate progress over the last year, and learn about national trends impacting the local area.
The Chief Executive Council was featured in an article in the November 2014 edition of “NJ Municipalities”, which is the official publication of the New Jersey State League of Municipalities. The article written by Mayor Robert H. Conley, was titled, “Bringing Business Executives on Board - Madison’s Chief Executive Council pays dividends for Drew University students and hurricane victims alike”.
