The Knights of Columbus was founded by Father Michael J. McGivney, curate at St. Mary's parish in New Haven, Connecticut on March 29, 1882. It has become an international fraternal benefit society of more than 1.8 million Catholic men within 14,000 councils who are dedicated to the ideals of Columbianism.
