Amnesty International USA, Group 54
Amnesty International works to prevent grave violations of people’s fundamental human rights committed by governments.

Specifically, Amnesty works to:

  • free prisoners of conscience, those people imprisoned solely because of their beliefs, race, ethnic origin, religion, sex, language or nationality
  • ensure fair and prompt trials for all political prisoners
  • and put an end to torture, executions, and disappearances.

    • Our activities include letter writing campaigns, generating signatures on petitions, staffing signature tables at local community events, such as street fairs and concerts, and speaking at high schools and colleges.
