The Thursday Morning Club will present Lunch with Barbara Tomlinson from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Thursday, May 13 at the club’s Madison Community House, 25 Cook Avenue . Tomlinson is a cultural arts teacher and former faculty member at Kean University . Her presentation will be the third in the club’s lunch and lecture series, “Wise, Wonderful Women.”
Tomlinson will help to answer the question Where are all the women artists? by investigating the lives and work of those few women who did become successful professional painters between the Renaissance and the 20th Century. By examining their experience, Tomlinson will reveal why they were so few in number, what factors helped to eventually increase their numbers, and the prospects for future.
The event is open to the public on a first-come basis, but reservations are required. The registration fee of $35 includes lunch and the lecture. Checks can be made payable and mailed to TMC, Wise, Wonderful Women P. O. Box 345 , Madison , NJ 07940 . Registrations are limited and non-refundable.
