21-Sep-2006 Thursday 7:30pm. Madison and the Revolutionary War -- Speaker: Bill Chemerka, former award winning history and economics teacher for 29 years at Madison High School, is a writer, director and actor in many history related articles and documentary films. Location: Madison Public Library, Chase Room, 39 Keep Street, Madison.
26-Oct-2006 Thursday 7:00 pm. Madison's Italian History -- Panel discussion by six representatives of old Madison Italian families talk about the history of their families including the old stories handed down through the generations. Dr. Richard Greenwald, Associate Professor of History and Director of Business, Society and Culture programs at Drew University will give an overview of Italian immigration to this area and facilitate the panel discussion. Location: Madison Public Library, Chase Room, 39 Keep Street, Madison.
29- March-2007 Standing Tell --Standing Proud: The African American Churches of Madison . Panel presentation.
26-April-2007 Madison Monuments -- Program highlighting some of Madison's monuments. Research has
been done through a collaborative effort by volunteers John Lawson and Lee
McKnight. Cole Park. Howard Cole, member of the family
that donated the park, presents an historical background.
17-May-2007 Luke Miller Revisited -- Madison High
School Students present their research findings.
06-Jun-2007 Wednesday 6:00pm. Annual Dinner Meeting and Program: A
Romp Through
Musical History -- by Harmonium Choral Society, Directed by Anne Matlack, Organist/Choir
Director, Grace Episcopal Church, Madison and Artistic Director, Harmonium
Choral Society. The dinner and program are open to the public,
payment and reservations required.
