ORDINANCE 2-2001
ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF MADISON REPEALING ORDINANCE 19-99 AND
APPROPRIATING $155,000.00 FROM THE NEW
JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION GRANT FOR MADISON BIKE PLAN
WHEREAS, the Borough has received approval of funding of
a New Jersey Department of Transportation Grant for the Madison Bike Plan
in the amount of $155,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineering Department has
recommended appropriating $155,000.00 for the Madison Bike plan from the
State of New Jersey Department of Transportation Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Borough adopted Ordinance 19-99, which
appropriated $100,000.00 from the General Capital Improvement Fund for the
construction of bikeways based on ISTEA funding; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has recommended that
Ordinance 19-99 be repealed, and that the full $155.000.00 be appropriated
from the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Council has determined that the
Borough should appropriate $155,000.00 from the State of New Jersey
Department of Transportation Grant for the Madison Bike Plan for the
construction of bikeways, including road shoulder striping; shoulder
maintenance, catch basin replacement and installation of signage; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has attested that the
funds in the amount of $155,000.00 will be available upon receipt of the
State of New Jersey Department of Transportation Grant for the Madison
Bike Plan in an amount of $155,000.00 for this purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Borough
of Madison, in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey, as follows:
SECTION 1: The amount of $155,000.00 is hereby appropriated from
the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation Grant for the Madison
Bike Plan for the construction of bikeways, including road shoulder
striping; shoulder maintenance, catch basin replacement and installation
of signage.
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall take effect as provided by law.
