Date Time Event September 29, 2007 The NJ League of Women Voters(Chatham Madison Area) sponsored a forum on the 2007 Stem Cell Bond Act at Chatham Borough's Council Chamber. The forum featured Assemblyman Neil Cohen (D-Union) and Assemblyman Michael Carroll (R-Morris), who discussed the background and pros and cons of the legislation. The overview of the scientific research was described by Dr. Barry Komisaruk (Professor-Rutgers University) and Dr. Richard Nowakowski (UMDNJ-R.W. Johnson Medical School). Dr. Donald Sebastian (Sr. VP-NJ Institute of Technology)discussed research spending and the economic impact. The League of Women Voters is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization whose primary purpose is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation of all citizens.
