Madison's unique intra-community network project is known as RoseNet.
At the Madison Public Library, RoseNet offers free access to and training
in computers and the Internet. RoseNet is an opportunity to provide more
efficient government services to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a
week, and is an unequaled environment for businesses to advertise to local
and regional audiences. RoseNet provides the comprehensive information
resource on all organizations and public activities in Madison. Many forms
and applications may be accessed and printed through this website, and
all municipal ordinances are available via the RoseNet (use link
"Borough Code" in the left margin of this page).
In addition to the fiber optic local area network linking government,
schools, universities and public library, the following services are
provided and included in property taxes:
- Emergency management and public safety handled around the clock by
the Police and Fire
Departments
- Borough-owned and managed electric
and water
utilities
- Engineering
services for project development, road improvements and environmental
awareness

- Residential curbside pickup of garbage, yard waste and recyclables
by private contractors, and collection schedules mailed annually to
each household
