MADISON RECREATION DEPARTMENT YOUTH SKI PROGRAM

 

The Madison Recreation Department will for its 34th  year be sponsoring a ski program for youngsters, grades 4* – 8.  The program will take place this year at the Mt. Peter Ski Area in Warwick, New York for six Fridays, beginning January 4, 2008.  (Bonus of one trip due to early registration date, you only pay for 5 trips, excluding the bus transportation fee)  Buses leave from the High School Parking Lot each Friday at 4 p.m., and return about 11 p.m.  SPACES FOR THE PROGRAM ARE LIMITED AND WILL BE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. IT IS RECOMMENDED YOU SIGN UP EARLY SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN WAITING LISTS OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. 

4TH GRADERS MAY MAIL IN THEIR REGISTRATION INFORMATION AND CHECK, HOWEVER WILL BE PLACED IN THE PROGRAM ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS IF SPACE ALLOWS AFTER PLACING YOUNGSTERS IN GRADES 5-8. 

 

There are different types of packages available:  The Early Registration fees are as follows: (Note:  To keep the fees at a low rate, there will be no absent vouchers provided by Mt. Peter)

 

Just Skiing or Snowboarding-Lift Ticket                     $60.00

Skiing or Snowboarding and Instruction                   $120.00

Skiing and Ski Equipment                                $115.00   Skiing, Ski Equipment and Instruction                    $175.00

 

Snowboarding and Snowboard Equipment                     $130.00

Snowboarding, Snowboard Equipment and Instruction       $190.00                         

The instruction program includes one hour of group instruction for five times, with approximately 6 -8 youngsters per class.

 

Parental Supervision accompanies the group on the buses.  Parents interested in being a chaperone should contact the Recreation Department when signing up their youngster.

 

DEADLINE TO SEND IN INFORMATION IS NOVEMBER 12, HOWEVER SPACES AND SEATS ON BUSES ARE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. 

 

Checks are made payable to:  “MADISON RECREATION SKI”. 

Send check with name of skier, address, phone number, age and grade in school, and which package you are signing up for.  If you are signing up for lessons, include whether you want Beginner lessons (never skied before, or Advanced lessons which includes all other levels.

Bus transportation charges will be made after the deadline date, and will be determined by the number of participants.  The cost should be around $90.00 for the six trips, and will be charged at a later date.
