ADDENDUM #1
BOROUGH OF MADISON, MORRIS COUNTY, NEW JERSEY
JANITORIAL SERVICES
BID OPENING DATE – FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2008, 10:00 AM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids for JANITORIAL SERVICES will include an acknowledgement of this ADDENDUM #1 by the Borough of Madison, County of Morris, State of New Jersey. The ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF CHANGE form included in the bid document on page 27 must be completed. Addendum #1 consists of some additions and some clarifications in the bid specifications as stated below:
Clarification:
Page 3, Item #10 “The successful bidder will provide all necessary tools,
equipment and power to start and complete the job.”
The Borough of Madison will supply the electricity for the vendor to run
his/her tools, equipment, etc.
Currently there are two different companies performing the work in the two different locations. This is the first time we are bidding the services. The scope of these specifications is greater than the work being performed in the locations currently. The approximate previous costs were $16,000 per year to clean the Civic Center and $3,000 per year to clean the Water and Electric Building.
There
is no bid bond requirement for this job but there is a requirement for an
Employee Dishonesty Bond with minimum limits of $100,000 (see the Hold Harmless
Agreement, page 21, of Bid Specs).
On pages 30-31 of the bid document, replace the following section with
the section of the same title currently there.
SPECIFICATIONS
FOR JANITORIAL SERVICES
All
cleaning will be done after or before hours.
· The Civic Center cleaning must be done in the morning hours, finished no later than 7:30 A.M.
·
The Water and Electric Building cleaning must be done after 3:30 P.M.
Invoices
shall be submitted on a monthly basis for the previous month’s work.
Madison
Civic Center, 28 Walnut Street, Madison, NJ

Department (bottom floor) (approximately 3500 sf)
Senior
Center (bottom floor) (approximately 1900 sf)
Teen
Center (top floor) (approximately 4750 sf)
Vendor
will supply all paper products (paper towels, toilet paper), garbage bags,
cleaning products, cleaning equipment for this location.
Daily (Monday through Friday only)

Clean (toilets, sinks, floors) 9 bathrooms

Clean and sanitize kitchens in the 3 Departments (Health, Senior, Teen)
Weekly
·
Dust all furniture and window sills
Wax Floors

Health Department (bottom floor) – once per month
·
Senior Center (bottom floor) – once per month
·
Teen Center (top floor) – every two weeks
·
Removal of scuff marks in all locations as needed
Once per year (August)
· Strip and wax floors
Madison Water and Electric Building, Station Road and John Avenue, Madison, NJ
Office
areas, break room, hallways and ladies bathroom – all floor tile
(approximately 1645 sf)
One
men’s bathroom – concrete floor (approximately 140 sf)
Vendor will supply ONLY cleaning products and
cleaning equipment for this location. They
will NOT supply the paper products (paper towels, toilet paper) or garbage bags.
Every 2 weeks

Dust mop and damp mop with rejuvenator cleanser all vinyl tile flooring
and high speed buff to ensure a high sheen, and apply finish if needed
·
Dust desk and furniture and window sills in main office only
Once per month
·
Clean and sanitize ladies room (sink, toilet, floor)
·
Clean and sanitize men’s room (sink, 2 toilets, floor)
Once
per year (August)
· Strip and wax floors
Two
times per year (June, December)
· Apply finish and machine buff floors
