The Planning Board functions under the
authority of the Municipal Land Use Law of New Jersey. It is authorized to
exercise power with regard to:
- Adoption of a Master Plan
- Subdivision control and site plan
review for permitted uses
- Recommendations as to the official
map of the Borough
- Conditional use applications
- Recommendations
as to the zoning ordinance or amendments thereto
- Review of Capital Projects
- Variances under certain
circumstances in connection with site plan and subdivision
The Planning Board consists of nine members
as follows:
- The Mayor
- A Borough Council member, appointed by the Borough Council
- A Borough Official
- A Member of the Environmental Commission
- Six other citizens of the Borough, appointed by the Mayor
The Planning Board holds monthly meetings,
generally on the first and last Tuesday of the month (See
Calendar), at 7:30 PM, in the Board Room of the Hartley Dodge
Memorial. Notice of all meetings is given to the public in accordance with the
requirements of the "Open Public Meetings Act" (Sunshine Law)
and the Municipal Land Use Law. All meetings are open to the general
public in accordance with the requirements of the "Open Public
Meetings Act".
Copies of the Madison Land Development
Ordinance and zoning maps may be purchased in the Borough Clerk's office
in the Hartley Dodge Memorial. Development application forms are available
in the Planning and Zoning office of the Hartley Dodge Memorial.
