ORDINANCE 30-2005
ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF MADISON AMENDING SECTION 112-3 OF THE BOROUGH CODE ENTITLED "HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION" TO EXPAND THE NUMBER OF REGULAR MEMBERS TO SEVEN
WHEREAS, the Borough Administrator has recommended revisions to the Madison Borough Code, more specifically, Section 112-3 entitled "Historic Preservation Commission" in order to expand the number of regular members of the Historic Preservation Commission from five to seven; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Council agrees with this recommendation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Borough of Madison, in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey, as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 112-3, of the Borough Code entitled "Historic Preservation Commission" is amended to read as follows
§112-3. Historic Preservation Commission.
Historic Preservation Commission, previously established by ordinance and appointed by the Mayor, is hereby continued consistent with N.J.S.A. 40:55D-107 et seq. The Commission shall consist of seven regular members and two alternate members. Members shall serve without compensation. At least one member shall be designated in each of the following classes:. . .

(d) Alternate members shall meet the qualifications of Class C members. At the time of appointment, alternate members shall be designated as "Alternate No. 1" and "Alternate No. 2." Of the seven regular members, a total of at least one less than a majority shall be of Classes A and B.

: This Ordinance shall take effect as provided by law.
