Madison, Morris Plains and Chatham residents are invited to walk with the Rose City Steppers.  People wishing to join RCS for 2012 may do so before any walk and will receive a choice of walking accessories and a Madison Walks book. Membership donation is $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for seniors. Steppers visit with one another starting at 8:45 a.m. first and walk promptly at 9:00 a.m. 

Membership is not necessary to walk with the Steppers.New folks especially welcome - come and meet some new friends while increasing your regular exercise!

Open to Madison, Morris Plains and Chatham residents.

The Steppers walk each Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. (first two Wednesdays in September at 6:30 p.m.).  Click here for the summer Wednesday night walk schedule. This is a great way to meet new friends and do something both energizing and relaxing mid-week!

 Rose City SteppersWHAT IS IT?

“Rose City Steppers” is a walking group sponsored by the Rose City Steppers Board and the Madison Health Department that encourages adults to be more physically active. Rose City Steppers work collaboratively with the Madison and Chatham Mayors Wellness Campaigns. Rose City Steppers walks and events are open to residents of Chatham Borough, Chatham Township, Butler and Morris Plains as well as Madison.

WHEN ARE THE WALKS?

We meet the second Saturday morning of each month and on Wednesday nights during the spring and summer.

WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?

The evidence is overwhelming that being physically active results in better overall health and mental functioning, reduced risk of chronic disease, weight control,and a general feeling of well being.  And, it’s fun!

WHERE DO I SIGN UP?

Anyone may attend the monthly walks, however we recommend joining the Steppers and subscribing to our list serve.  The registration fee to join Rose City Steppers is $12.00 for an adult or $10.00 for seniors (over 60).  Registration is ongoing anytime during the year at the Health Department at 28 Walnut Street.  You may also click here to download a  registration form.

  AND REMEMBER…

The Rose City Steppers walk on the second Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m. The Steppers gather for coffee and conversation at 8:45 a.m. before the monthly walks.  Bring a cup of your morning beverage and join us for a time to visit. In the spring and summer the Steppers walk weekly on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.
