Mutual Aid to Florham Park ~ August 20, 2008
At 04:26 hours, Madison Fire Headquarters received an urgent request from the Florham Park Police Desk requesting mutual aid at 23 Mann Avenue for a report of a house fire.  Engine 2 responded and was notified while en-route of a trapped victim.  Madison Fire personnel assisted Florham Park firefighters with an interior search of the residence.  The fire which took the life of the 52 year old resident is currently being investigated by the Morris County Prosecutors Office along with the Florham Park Police Department.  East Hanover Fire Department assisted on the scene.

Mutual Aid to Hanover Township (Whippany) ~ July 19, 2008
On July 19, 2008 Madison Fire Department was requested by the Whippany Fire Department for a mutual response to 1205 Fox Chase Lane.  Originally requested as the F.A.S.Team, Madison Fire Department personnel were quickly put to work checking for fire extension on the third floor.  Approximately 100 firefighters from neighboring communities were requested to battle the fire in the scorching summer heat.

Trench Rescue Training ~ June 9, 2008
On June 9, 2008 members of the Madison Fire Department and Ceder Knolls Fire Department technical rescue teams refreshed their skills at a two day training course held at the Madison Muncipal Garage.  Personnel exercised their training in tactics performing at several training evolutions.
