The
Artist
Amy Becker
Amy Becker is a fine art photographer who has exhibited her
work at Madison’s Griffin Gallery and at the Madison Public
Library. She is currently a member of the Board of
Directors of
the Madison Arts & Culture Alliance (MACA), as well as
the
creative director/editor of the organization’s calendar
of events.
Along with Tim Hoey, her husband, she facilitates the Madison
Public Library’s popular “Tuesday Night at the Movies” series.
She is also a digital lab monitor at the Visual Arts
Center of
New Jersey in Summit.
Presently, her work is in an ongoing exhibition at the
Geraldine
R. Dodge Gallery Group Exhibit at Fairleigh Dickinson University
in Florham Park. Other Exhibitions include the Annual Juried
Group Exhibit, Griffin Gallery, Madison, NJ,
April 2006 and
“Focused—A Single Moment in Time” , Photography Group

Amy was born in New York City and grew up in Wayne, N.J.
She and her husband moved to Madison in 1995. Ms. Becker's
academic background includes a B.S. from Boston University
School of Communications, and coursework at the School of
Visual Arts of New York.
Her professional development includes photography workshops
and classes at the International Center of Photography, Morris
County College and Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. She has
studied photography with a number of noted professionals
including Joyce Tenneson, Jack Rezincki, Jeff Mermelstein,
Harvey Stein and Susan Kleckner.
