NOTICE TO BIDDERS
BOROUGH OF MADISON, MORRIS COUNTY, NEW JERSEY
ZELCOVA PRUNING &/OR HOURLY TREE TRIMMING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed bids will be received by the Borough of Madison, County of Morris, State of NJ, in the Planning Board Room, 2nd Floor, Hartley Dodge Memorial, Kings Road, Madison, NJ on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. prevailing time, and at that time will be publicly opened and read for the ZELCOVA PRUNING &/OR HOURLY TREE TRIMMING.  Bid prices shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days.

In addition to the proposal, each bidder will be required to submit a statement of his/her qualifications, financial ability, and a non-collusion affidavit. Failure to submit same with the proposal may result in rejection of the bid. All bids must be submitted on the Proposal Forms furnished by the Borough. Bids on any other forms will not be accepted. Bid documents and specifications are available at the Borough Clerk's Office, Hartley Dodge Memorial, Madison, NJ from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.

Sealed Proposals must be accompanied by: (1) a duly executed Bid Proposal Guarantee in the form set forth in the Bid Package; (2) a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Borough of Madison in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid (based upon the highest total bid, if alternative bids are involved), but not to exceed $20,000, and (3) a duly executed Consent of Surety and Power of Attorney on the standard NJ Statutory Bond Form, as set forth in the Bid Specifications, issued by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of NJ.

Bids shall be addressed to the Borough Clerk, Borough of Madison in the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building on Kings Road, Madison, NJ 07940. Each Proposal must be enclosed in a SEALED ENVELOPE, properly endorsed with the name of the Bidder, with the designation "BOROUGH OF MADISON, SEALED BID, ZELCOVA PRUNING &/OR HOURLY TREE TRIMMING, NOVEMBER 25, 2002 ". Any envelope that is received that is not properly marked causing it to be opened prior to the bid will be invalidated. Bids may be received before the hour designated in this office, if they are mailed or hand delivered in person. The Borough of Madison will not be responsible for any bid that is sent by mail or other form of carrier which is lost or which arrives after the bid date and time, MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2002 at 10:00 a.m.

Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975, C. 127 (N.J.A.C. 17:27).

The Borough of Madison reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities therein and to accept any bid that will be in the best interest of the Borough of Madison, NJ according to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1. The Borough of Madison reserves the right to make separate purchase awards for various sizes and kinds of materials or equipment required, based on the low unit bids submitted on such items.

The Borough of Madison reserves the right to delete sections of work from the contract after the award of the bid has been made due to funding or other reasons. The prices bid for various items of work shall not be adjusted due to the deletion of any work due to the variation of any quantity for the various items scheduled in the Proposals.
