Meeting Cancelled Downtown Development Commission

The meeting of the Downtown Development Commission that was originally scheduled for 9/18 and rescheduled for 9/11 has now been cancelled.

Patriotic Celebrations Committee Patriotic Celebrations Committee

The regularly meeting of the Patriotic Celebrations Committee scheduled for September 9, 2014 has been cancelled. The next meeting is scheduled for October 14, 2014.

North Street 2014 Road Improvements Engineering Department

Notice for residents on North Street in Madison. Cifelli & Son Construction, the General Contractor retained by the Borough of Madison to complete the resurfacing of nine local roads, intends to begin curb and drainage improvements this week, weather conditions permitting. Work will be phased to minimize access limitations for the public. Your cooperation is requested during the time of construction to remove/relocate the automobiles you intend to use by approximately 7:30 a.m. on curbing days when the contractor is active within 200 feet of your home. This will minimize interruption of construction work and allow the contractor to finish as soon as possible. Temporary Parking on a minor local street within 1000 feet of your home/business may be anticipated with the cooperation of the Police Department. Emergency “NO PARKING” will be enforced by the Police Department during construction if vehicles impede progress. Specific scheduling problems may be directed to the office of the Borough Engineer. The Police Department can be contacted for traffic information and assistance. The inconvenience is temporary but the improvements remain for years. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION ! Special Meeting Mayor and Council

NOTICE, that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Madison in the County of Morris and State of New Jersey have called a Special Meeting for Thursday,August 21, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Conference Room at the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, 50 Kings Road, Madison, to consider an ordinance authorizing advanced refunding of Borough debt, and will immediately adjourn to Executive Session to discuss one Personnel Matter. The public session will reconvene immediately following the Executive Session. FURTHER NOTICE, that this meeting is open to the public and that formal action will be taken. East Street Parking Lot Engineering Department

East Street Parking Lot is being reconstructed under a municipal contract awarded to Stanziale Construction and in cooperation with the Kirby Children's Center. Temporary No Parking will be enforced for two weeks or until the new parking lot has been completed and opened to traffic. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation during this construction work.

Open Space Meeting Canceled Open Space, Recreation, and Historic Preservation Advisory Committee

The previously scheduled meeting of the Madison Open Space, Recreation and Historic Preservation Advisory Committee, listed for August 13, 2014 at 7:30, has been canceled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held September 10, 2014 at 7:30 p.m.

Work will be phased to minimize access limitations for the public. 2014 Road Improvement Program Engineering Department

Notice for residents on Academy, Vinton, Wilson and Belmont streets in Madison. Cifelli & Son Construction, the General Contractor retained by the Borough of Madison to complete the resurfacing of nine local roads, intends to begin milling operations this week (two days) and paving operations initiated Friday and completed the following Monday (two days), weather conditions permitting. Work will be phased to minimize access limitations for the public. Property access during milling will not be compromised for more than one hour at individual locations. Access during final paving operations is restricted for half a day in the direct vicinity of work. Your cooperation is requested during the time of construction to remove/relocate the automobiles you intend to use by approximately 7:30 a.m. on final paving days when the contractor is active in your vicinity. This will minimize interruption of construction work and allow the contractor to finish as soon as possible. Temporary Parking on a minor local street within 1000 feet of your home/business may be anticipated with the cooperation of the Police Department. Emergency “NO PARKING” will be enforced by the Police Department during construction if vehicles impede progress. Specific scheduling problems may be directed to the office of the Borough Engineer. Madison Public Library Library

The Madison Public Library is open during regular library hours throughout the neighborhood road reconstruction project. Library hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 10 am - 9 pm; Thursday & Friday 10 am - 6 pm and Saturday 10 am - 5 pm. Touch a Truck will be held this Saturday 10 am - 3 pm on the Library and YMCA property. On that day access to the Library will be via Belmont Avenue.

Summer Seminars Relocated Library

Monday, July 28 at 1 pm - The Creative Experience from Idea to Publisher presented by Daphne Kalotay Thursday, July 31 at 10:30 am - Politics & Finance: the Christie Dilemma presented by Bob Hennelly The above programs will be held at the Madison Senior Center, 28 Walnut St. Madison rather than the Madison Public Library. This move is due to the road reconstruction project underway on Belmont Avenue and the Library driveway.
