TRAFFIC IMPACT NOTICE on Prospect Street (from Kings Rd to Main St), daytime, weather conditions permitting. Borough of Madison contractor Tilcon indicates the road milling project will begin on or about Thursday October 2, 2014 with completion of paving scheduled by Tuesday October 7, 2014. Commercial businesses should plan on minimizing all morning delivery vehicles on Prospect Street on paving day Monday October 6, 2014 due to lane closures. Resurfacing of these roads is being done in conjunction with the State resurfacing of Main Street (Rt124) anticipated to impact traffic night time beginning next week. CONSTRUCTION NOTICE on STATE HWY 124 Madison Ave for the week of September 22, 2014 NJDOT has been completing various road improvements along Madison Avenue over the summer months. The State and its contractor DellaPello anticipate side street milling and paving work will commence this week starting wednesday night. The State anticipates milling and repaving work for the main highway section in Madison starting the week of October 5 (night work lasting up to one week). The NJDOT Field Superintendent can be reached during regular business hours for additional information. The Municipal Engineer in Borough Hall can also provide information as it becomes available. NOTICE OF MEETING TIME CHANGE In compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, the Joint Municipal Court Committee of the Borough of Madison, Borough of Chatham, Township of Harding, Township of Chatham and the Township of Morris issues this notification of the following scheduled meeting change. “PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, the September 23, 2014, meeting of the Joint Municipal Court Committee scheduled for 7:30 pm is being rescheduled for the same date beginning at 5:30 pm in the 2nd Floor Committee Room of the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building, 50 Kings Road, in the Borough of Madison. The meeting of the Downtown Development Commission that was originally scheduled for 9/18 and rescheduled for 9/11 has now been cancelled.
The regularly meeting of the Patriotic Celebrations Committee scheduled for September 9, 2014 has been cancelled. The next meeting is scheduled for October 14, 2014.

Per Municipal Code 166-34, A residential property owner may apply to the Borough for partial reimbursement of the cost of replacement of an existing sidewalk or construction of a new sidewalk on land abutting a public street. The reimbursement shall be $15 per square yard. The reimbursement shall apply to sidewalk installation only and shall not apply to ancillary work such as landscaping, lawn sprinklers and electronic dog fences. The property owner shall submit to the Borough Engineer all bills associated with the project as well as evidence of payment to the contractor.
Notice for residents on North Street in Madison. Cifelli & Son Construction, the General Contractor retained by the Borough of Madison to complete the resurfacing of nine local roads, intends to begin curb and drainage improvements this week, weather conditions permitting. Work will be phased to minimize access limitations for the public. Your cooperation is requested during the time of construction to remove/relocate the automobiles you intend to use by approximately 7:30 a.m. on curbing days when the contractor is active within 200 feet of your home. This will minimize interruption of construction work and allow the contractor to finish as soon as possible. Temporary Parking on a minor local street within 1000 feet of your home/business may be anticipated with the cooperation of the Police Department. Emergency “NO PARKING” will be enforced by the Police Department during construction if vehicles impede progress. Specific scheduling problems may be directed to the office of the Borough Engineer. The Police Department can be contacted for traffic information and assistance. The inconvenience is temporary but the improvements remain for years. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION !
