  1. Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey: "William Shakespeare's Long Lost First Play"

July 24, 2019, 8:00 PM @ The Outdoor Stage at the College of Saint Elizabeth

If you thought The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) was a wild ride, then this “lost play” will knock your socks off! Rowdy, rollicking, zany, silly and irreverent, this is a great production to introduce youngsters to Shakespeare in madcap fashion. Enjoy watching Shakespeare get “roasted” in this wacky spoof as you sit under the stars and witness every character the Bard ever wrote go crashing into each other! We will once again be offering FREE tickets to young people 18 and under, and discounted tickets for customers of Bank of America — our long-time sponsor of the Outdoor Stage.

  7. Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey: "The Rainmaker"

July 31, 2019, 7:30 PM @ F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre at Drew University

The 1957 award-winning film, starring Burt Lancaster and Katherine Hepburn, was based on this great American stage classic, as was the musical, 110 in the Shade. Author N. Richard Nash calls the play a romantic comedy but it is so much more. Set in rural, dust-bowl America, it is about a parched land desperate for rain, and the tough but lonely people who live there, thirsting for love. This is a play about yearning, family, hope, and the magic that sometimes pours down on us from the unlikeliest of sources.

    July 31, 2019, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM @ Helen Whitney Chase Auditorium

What may be a surprise to many Morris County residents is that within a short driving distance there are hundreds of public gardens. Most of them are free and offer an incredible variety of plants and designs. In some instances these gardens were once part of a private estate and the original mansion may be open for viewing. This presentation covers a range of gardens from pocket size to multi-acre arboretums. Pictures are shown of each garden along with access information and the speaker’s highly subjective rating. A list of all local gardens will be provided. This program will be presented by Bill Moran, Speaker's Bureau Master Gardeners of Morris County Rutgers Cooperative Extension.
