The Madison Public Library has two video collections on cassettes and DVDs, an audio book collection on cassettes and on CDs, and a music CD collection.  Details about each collection are given below. The audiobook collections (cassette and CD) are on shelves in the New Book areaThe Instructional Videos/ TV/ Classic Comedies & Musicals/ Theatrical Entertainment on videocassette collections   are on shelves to the right of the door  as you enter the Library.

These
cover a wide range of topics such as travel, art, gardening, theater, opera, sports, ancient history, health, computers, and dog training. We also have many PBS videos, including such classics as The Civil War, Elizabeth R, several Morse seasons,The Jewel in the Crown,  Jeeves and Wooster. Our classic comedies and musicals include The Honeymooners, Hope and Crosby "Road" titles, I Love Lucy, Fawlty Towers, My Fair Lady, Singin' in the Rain, films by Esther Williams, Betty Grable and Doris Day and many more. This collection is arranged by author or title if fiction and Dewey decimal number according to subject if non-fiction. They are available in both
DVD and cassette format.  These may be checked out for two  weeks by anyone with a library card in the Morris Area Information Network. 
We have a selection of TV shows including Monk, The Sopranos, Twenty-four, Heroes, House, M.D., 30 Rock, Ugly Betty, Felicity, The Forsyte Saga, The Prisoner and The Office.
We have many videocassettes which include modern hits, classics and foreign films.. These may be borrowed for two weeks.  These and the PBS & classic comedies and musicals collections will be found to the right of the entrance across from the Circulation Desk.
The non-fiction collection can be found to the left of the entrance across from the Circulation Desk.


Theatrical Entertainment Videos on DVD
These are films that have appeared in movie theaters. We have both domestic and foreign titles.  We have a large collection on
DVD. These may be borrowed for two days for a fee of  $1.00  per title and have a $1.00/day fine. They are found in display cases near the Information Desk  They may be checked out for two days by anyone with a library card in the Morris Area Information Network.


SPOKEN WORD AUDIOBOOKS - There are two collections: Audiobooks on CD and on cassette  and Language & Test Preparation Audiocassettes.

Audiobooks on CD  This is a new and growing collection.  We have over 1,500 titles. These are found in the New Book section immediately before the audiobooks on cassette. Anyone may take out up to five titles for two weeks.

Audiobooks  on Cassette We have over 1,000 abridged and unabridged audiobooks on tape. These are found in the New Book section Anyone may take out up to five titles for two weeks.

Language & Test Preparation CD/Audiocassettes  Do you need to improve your language skills? From Arabic to English to Thai we have over fifty Language & Test Preparation Tapes. Card holders from any Morris Area Information Network library may check out a tape on Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Thai. We also have tapes to help you study for the TOEFL, NTE, and MSAT tests. These are found in the New Book section immediately after the audiobooks on cassette.A maximum of three tapes may be checked out for two weeks.

CIRCULATING MUSIC CDs -

Music CDs   There are over 1600 music CDs in our collection. They are found in display cases near the Information Desk and are arranged by music categories. These are Chamber Music, Country & Western,  Easy Listening, Folk Music,  Holiday, Jazz & Big Band,  Musicals, Movie & TV Soundtracks,  New Age Music, Orchestral Music,  Opera,  Popular,  Solo Instruments, Vocal   (primarily classical) and  World Music. Anyone with a card from a M.A.I.N.  library can check out up to five CDs for two weeks.
