This event held annually in the spring, typically in conjunction with the Taste of Madison, provides a great opportunity for the CECM members to come together for informal networking and to reflect on the year's accomplishments and plans for the future.
CECM Annual Charity Softball Game
Held annually while Quest Diagnostics was located at Giralda Farms, the same in the summer of 2012 was the launch point for the Chief Executive Council for Madison (CECM). The original concept for CECM was the result of a casual conversation between Quest Diagnostics CEO Steve Rusckowski along with Madison Mayor Bob Conley, and Drew University President Dr. MaryAnn Baenninger at this game.
Through Quest’s partnership with the Madison community, more than $26,000 was raised through the annual softball games; this money benefits the community as well as local and national nonprofit organizations.
Union Beach & Camp Speers YMCA
Thanks to the generosity of the Quest Diagnostics Foundation and community residents, the Borough of Madison has been sending 30 youngsters from Union Beach to summer camp at Camp Speers YMCA all expenses paid since the summer of 2013. This program which was started as a response to the devastation from Hurricane Sandy to give the children of Union Beach the opportunity to be kids again, learn new skills and return to the school community and their families refreshed. Many of the children who previously attended camp as part of this program are now peer leaders at Union Beach Memorial School and role models for their classmates.
